SDD Race Team
The SDD race team was formed in 2018 once David Sera stopped his own racing. Initially the team was setup around Cadet & Junior drivers, but has now expanded to helping Senior drivers at the Australian Kart Championship, State Championships and selected races in New Zealand & the USA.
In 2018, SDD won an Australian Championship in the Rotax Pro Tour, took victories in the Australian Kart Championship and countless podiums around Australia and New Zealand. Now 5 years on, the team has won multiple AKC Rounds with drivers in Cadets, Juniors and Seniors and is leading the Teams Championship in the Australian Titles.
The team is led by 18 x Australian Champion David Sera who coaches & mentors the drivers and in 2019 they struck a partnership with leading Supercars outfit; Penrite Racing (Erebus). This partnership has seen the SDD race team receive support from Supercars drivers David Reynolds & Anton De Pasquale as well as team manager Barry Ryan. At selected race events around the country Erebus has their staff to assist with the SDD race team.
The two teams have recently created a pathway for upcoming kart racers to move into car racing with their “Karts to Cars” program which saw six lucky SDD drivers take part in a two day program at the Norwell Motorplex in QLD being assisted by Bathurst 1000 winner Paul Morris alongside the Erebus team.
